The UNC Institute of Politics Fellows Program brings two Fellows to campus each semester, striking a balance of ideology and experience and providing a forum for inquisitive and productive discourse between students and experienced political practitioners. Over the course of eight weeks, each Fellow leads their own seminar series right on UNC’s campus, with each week’s topic covering a specific elements of the broader theme of their entire series. In addition to their seminars, Fellows also hold office hours to talk with students about their professional experience, life in the political realm, research interests, academic or personal projects, or to just get to know one another.
Fellows seminars are free and open to students, faculty, staff, University affiliates, and members of the community, and no RSVP is required to attend.
The Program is supported by a team of Fellows Aides, who help orient Fellows to the campus community and University resources, promote their seminars on campus, and provide additional support to the Fellows for the duration of their tenure with the IOP. Many Fellows Aides, and indeed many regular seminar participants, develop relationships with the Fellows that last long past their time on campus.
Questions regarding the Fellows Program, including requests to be considered as a prospective Fellow or to apply for a position as a Fellows Aide, may be directed to fellows@unciop.org.
