The Tech Team, a program of the University of North Carolina Institute of Politics, seeks to support neighboring community organizations and state and local government in using digital tools to create and foster change. The Tech Team draws from the skills of UNC students of all disciplines who are united by a strong desire to help their community. We create project teams that support partner organizations in enhancing technical infrastructure, maximizing online presence, refining digital tools, and leveraging data to upgrade their capabilities.

The rapid advancement of technology over the past decade has democratized information in a manner never before seen in human history. We believe this trend can be leveraged to improve our democratic institutions in sustainable ways. We want to channel the capabilities of tech into producing tangible benefits for our communities. We hope that by partnering with local organizations and politicians we can maximize our impact.
